Regular price
$3,997.00
This 1739 Crown, minted during the reign of George II, is a distinguished piece of English numismatic history from the mid-18th century. The obverse features the right-facing bust of George II, adorned with a laurel wreath, symbolizing his authority as the monarch. On the reverse, a crowned shield displays the arms of England, Scotland, France, and Ireland in a cruciform arrangement, symbolizing the unity of these kingdoms under George II’s reign.
In Extremely Fine (EF) condition, this coin exhibits minimal wear with sharp details on both the obverse bust and reverse shield. The edge of the coin bears the inscription “DVODECIMO,” indicating the twelfth year of George II’s reign. While the coin has undergone a slight cleaning, there is a small edge flaw, which does not detract significantly from its EF grade.
